In my second year of college at the University of Central Florida, as an extremely bored architectural major I meet a guy who was working for the Orlando Top 40 station, making $10 an hour spinning records. I was working as a waiter for Le Pizza de Hut on 17-92 & 436, getting migraine headaches every night as drunken Florida High School Football players and their giggling girlfriends would continually run out on their bill. I was making $3 an hour, do the math and feel the headache! So the next day I took a shower I ran over to 95 WLOF-AM and bam I was an on air radio personality. Wow me famous! People hanging on my every word! Ok not so much, but one can only dream.

This radio job led to an additional lucrative part-time job as Master DJ at the ABC Liquor Lounge in Casselberry, that’s like being the “Iron Chef” on Food Network. The entire bar was covered top to bottom with RED shag carpet to hide the stains of spilled Tequila Sunrises and beer. Get this, there was a bar in the middle of the place that revolved slowly like a merry-go-round, we called it the spin and barf. If that wasn’t enough a third job came my way as mobile DJ. This was a great job, show up at the Lake Buena Vista wedding reception, push the play button and go dance with the bride’s maids and then get punched by their boyfriends. Now I had three jobs and several well deserved scars! I was the first Ryan Seacrest, only with records.

Since discovering that I could get paid more than my dad made for doing practically nothing and getting all the girls I wanted, life was good. Now I’m back to act the fool on the Sunny 105.9 morning show playing all the music I was playing on the radio the first time around. Please listen in the morning, my dog’s ears smell and the medication is very expensive.
